VERSATILITY

Globally, an estimated 92 million tonnes of textiles waste is created each year.
Fast fashion is clothing produced rapidly by mass-market retailers in response to the latest trends and popular consumption. The system is based on making the consumers buy low quality items and replace them rapidly.

On the contrary, slow fashion aims to create high quality, durable, seasonless products that will last for a long time.

Giyi uses long-lasting and durable materials and offers the opportunity to create many different outfits out of one piece with creative styling for a mindful capsule wardrobe.

Besides the materials used and the production process, sustainability also refers to lengthen the life of a garment. Versatility is at the very core of our design process and for this reason Giyi’s first collection was only 7 versatile pieces which can be worn as a dress or a jacket. Our collection principle is to make just one collection per year.

Each Giyi piece is beyond trends and seasons. We carefully pick our fabrics, styles and details so that each and every Giyi piece can be worn throughout all seasons and on different occasions. Our back to front dress and tops in Collection 2 are best versatility examples. Each dress is actually more than a dress. Each shirt, pants or jacket is much more than one piece.

The only thing we need is to use some creativity and care for our clothes.
